Ethics in publishing

  • Author(s) must ensure that they have written entirely original contributions, and if they have used the works of other authors, these should be correctly cited or quoted. In addition, authors must follow international publishing ethics.
  • The submitted works must be unpublished before and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  • Authors must reveal any financial support and personal relationships with other people/organisations that could improperly affect (bias) their works.

Changes to authorship

  • Authors must list and order the authors before submitting their contributions to the JHSSR.
  • Any changes in the authorship (names or orders) must be made before the final acceptance of the contributions and only if approved by the journal Editor. A change in the authorship must be requested by the corresponding author clarifying the reason for the change in the authorship. The request must be supported by all authors' signed letter (sent via e-mail) confirming that they agree with the changes.

Although the JHSSR support supports the readers' rights in reading, downloading, printing, and citing the published papers, the permission of the Editor is required (mandatory) for the resale of published papers.

Article structure

Please review our article template to use as a guide.

  • Authors must divide their articles into clearly defined and numbered sub-sections. For example, if the main section has a number of 1.1., the sub-sections must be 1.1.1., 1.1.2., etc. Note that the abstract is not included in section numbering.
  • Figures captions must be provided.
  • Tables must be editable text.
  • Although the main sections of papers could vary according to the type of the paper, the abstract, keywords, introduction, conclusions, and references must be included in all contributions except the Letters to the Editor.

  • Authors must ensure that every reference cited in the text is also presented in the reference list.
  • Unpublished references, results, and personal communications are not recommended in the reference list.
  • References must be numbered (in square brackets [ ]) in order of appearance in the text and listed at the end of the paper. For example [1], [1,2] or [1–3]. Name(s) of the author(s), year of publication, work title, journal/book title, volume number, issue number, and page range must be mentioned where applicable.
