Abstract

Identify the level of self-management skills among university students, in light of the variables (gender_specialization. The research sample amounted to (300) male and female students from Tikrit University, selected randomly. The researchers prepared a scale to measure self-management skills, consisting of five areas. The scale in its initial form consisted of (35) paragraphs. The apparent validity of the scale was verified by presenting its paragraphs to a group of arbitrators. Its paragraph in discrimination was deleted, as well as extracting the discrimination coefficient and the correlation coefficient of the paragraphs with the scale. All paragraphs were completed, and thus the scale in its final form consisted of (33) paragraphs. The stability of the scale was calculated by retesting, and it reached (0.88), which is considered a good stability coefficient  .

The researchers applied the scales to the basic research sample consisting of (300) male and female students from Tikrit University in the scientific and humanities specializations. After collecting the information forms, the data were processed statistically using the t-test for one sample and two samples and Pearson's correlation coefficient. The researchers reached the following results: -

  1. 1. University students enjoy a high level of self-management skills.
  2. 2. There are statistically significant differences in self-management skills according to the gender variable and in favor of females
  3. There are statistically significant differences in the level of self-management skills according to the specialization variable and in favor of the humanities specialization
