Many of the researchers use the term "Teaching competency" in an incorrect way, which results in altering the final outcomes of their studies. Therefore, this short communication with the editor aims to present an accurate definition of "Teaching competency" and its relationship to apprenticeship students. Teaching competency is not behavioural in itself, but its behaviours derive from the functional and purposeful activity that emanates from it. Generally, the competencies are defined as a set of knowledge, skills, and procedures that a teacher needs to do his job with the least amount of cost, effort, and time, without which he cannot perform his duty in the optimal and required manner, and then his availability should be considered a condition for his work permit.
