Exploring Digital Dynamics in Netourism: The Linguacultural Impacts of Net-actors on Net-communities

Abstract

This study delves into the digital dynamics of netourism (Internet-tourism), emphasizing the linguacultural impacts of net-actors and netiquette on net-communities. Netourism, an emerging phenomenon in the virtual realm, provides a unique context to examine the interconnectedness of language, culture, and online interactions. Guided by the central research question, "How do net-actors influence the netiquettes and linguacultural aspects of communication within net-communities in the context of netourism?", this research investigates the roles of netizens (Internet-citizens), netpats (Internet-expats), and netmads (Internet-nomads) as influential net-actors on netour`s netiquette (Internet-etiquette), communication practices, language use, and cultural exchange within net-communities. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study combines qualitative and quantitative methods, including online surveys, in-depth interviews, and discourse analysis, to gather insights from diverse net-actors and net-communities engaged in netourism. This comprehensive approach aims to capture the multifaceted experiences, perspectives, and linguistic-cultural impacts within this dynamic digital landscape. The study contributes valuable insights to sociolinguistics, digital communication, and tourism studies by examining the interplay between linguistic and cultural dimensions in netourism. Findings have significant implications for understanding evolving digital dynamics and informing strategies that foster inclusive communication and cultural exchange among diverse net-actors and net-communities.
