Abstract

The research aims to study the relationship between functional efficiency and the performance of the spike skill in volleyball among third-year students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Babylon. The researcher used the descriptive method with a random sample of 20 students. The study included measuring functional efficiency using the PWC 170 physical test and assessing the accuracy of the spike skill performance. The results showed a significant and strong correlation (r=0.76) between functional efficiency and the accuracy of spike performance, indicating that improved functional performance enhances an individual's ability to perform the skill accurately. The study recommends including training programs to develop physical efficiency and linking them with sports skills to achieve optimal skill performance.
