Abstract

This hydrological study addressed the interactions of water with the environment under the pressure of climate change and human activities, located between latitudes 35°30'0" N and 35°40'0" N north, and longitudes 43°57'30" E and 44°12'30" E east, as a geographical part of northern Iraq, with an area of (1173.5) km2. The number of valleys in the study area reached 857 valleys, corresponding to the combined lengths of these valleys 1312.3 km, while the length of the main course of the Lower Zab River in the study area only reached 6.6 km. The study aims to understand the hydrological mechanisms, develop predictive models of risks, and achieve sustainable management of water resources.
