Abstract

Despite the qualitative diversity in modern teaching methods aimed at achieving educational objectives, findings from scientific studies and research have consistently emphasized the effectiveness of approaches that grant the student a central role in decision-making related to exercise execution, mechanisms of self-assessment, and the perception of qualitative motor performance (Schmidt & Wrisberg, 2008). Through field observation and the researcher’s direct participation in the educational process within the college, it has become evident that the acquisition of motor skills—particularly basketball skills—still relies heavily on the conventional approach known as the “Command Style.” This approach is characterized by the teacher’s dominance in decision-making, while the student’s role is limited to the mechanical execution of given instructions and directives. In light of recent developments in educational practices and the emergence of modern trends emphasizing the importance of adopting innovative teaching methods, the researcher recognized the need to rely on well-established scientific references in the field of learning based on diverse teaching styles. These studies have highlighted the necessity of implementing modern instructional approaches within colleges of physical education, especially those that have not been sufficiently utilized in the past, such as the “Inclusion Style” and the “Self-Check Style.” Accordingly, this study aims to compare the effectiveness of these methods with the “Command Style” in developing a set of basketball skills. Research Objectives:

  • To evaluate the effect of employing modern teaching methods (Inclusion Style and Self-Check Style) on the acquisition of chest passing and dribbling skills in basketball among female students.
  • To conduct a comparative analytical evaluation to determine the most effective and efficient teaching method for developing chest passing and dribbling skills in basketball.
