Abstract

The Belt and Road strategy is one of the most important and largest economic projects that it presents to the world, as well as the Economic Century project with geostrategic options that emphasize communication and interconnection between the three continents of the world (Asia, Africa, and Europe) to the border areas of the seas and oceans and the opening of new corridors that were not known such as the road polar silk.  The importance of the Belt and Road strategy for Iraq lies in investing in infrastructure and implementing projects that help Iraq effectively enter into this project, especially the Great Port of Faw project, and the dry canal that connects the ports of the northern Arabian Gulf with Europe through Iraq, Turkey and Syria, and provides financial returns and diversification in income.  The research consisted of three sections, the first topic is the nature of the strategy of the Chinese Belt and Road project, the second topic, the geographical path of the Chinese Belt and Road project, the third topic is Iraq and the strategy of the Chinese Belt and Road project.
