Abstract

The modern methods in education have positively influenced learners, including the self-assessment approach in direct learning. This approach relies on learners taking charge of most of their performance, while seeking general guidance from the teacher regarding the skill to be learned. Learners are able to handle the details, identify errors, and correct them on their own. Modern teaching methods are further enhanced through the use of computers, which contribute to the development of learning levels, particularly in sports skills such as women's gymnastics, which serve as the foundation for other sports. The fundamental skills in floor exercises form the basis upon which other skills in gymnastics rely. The study aims to utilize the self-assessment and computer approach in learning some floor exercise skills and evaluate the impact of this approach on learning. The students were divided into two groups: an experimental group and a control group. The results showed that the use of self-assessment with computers significantly contributed to learners' understanding of the specific details of gymnastics skills. Additionally, the approach demonstrated notable improvement in learning compared to the traditional method. It is recommended to employ the self-assessment approach in learning women's gymnastics skills and utilize computers in educational centers to save time and effort. Furthermore, these methods should be applied in organizing the learning environment and achieving desired objectives.
