Abstract

Praise be to God, without whom no pen would have happened, and no tongue would have spoken. May peace and blessings be upon our master Muhammad, and may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family. He was the most eloquent of people and the clearest of eloquence. It gives me great pleasure to have this great opportunity to write about this important topic because of its great impact on the life of the individual and society. This research was prepared to delve deeper into Al-Ma'arri's imperatives, specifically his social criticism, in which he called for reforming society and correcting its distortions. The title of my research is (Social Criticism in Al-Ma'arri's Ligatives), and the approach that we followed in this research is the technical study of the subject of social criticism in Al-Ma'arri's Ligatives. The research material consists of an introduction and two chapters. In the introduction, I discussed the life and biography of Abu Al-Ala Al-Maarri. The first chapter dealt with the topics of social criticism according to Al-Ma’arri, including natural phenomena, criticism of society, criticism of women, criticism of religion, and criticism of politics, with some poetic examples from his collection of poems, Al-Luzumiyat. The second chapter was devoted to studying its analysis, application, and art, representing the graphic image in Al-Ma’arri’s imperatives, including simile, while mentioning some applications from Al-Ma’arri’s poetry and metaphor, while also mentioning some applications from Al-Ma’arri’s poetry, and metonymy as well, while mentioning some applications from Al-Ma’arri’s poetry, and in conclusion, I prove the results I reached. This humble information is in the hands of the reader. If I am correct, then good. I want a reward, and if I am wrong, consider that I have the reward of trying and being diligent. I ask God Almighty to make this humble effort of mine a good and useful building block. I cannot succeed except in God. In Him I trust, and to Him I repent.
