The effect of the analogical thinking strategy on the acquisition of philosophical concepts among fifth-grade literary students and the development of their abstract thinking.

The research aims to identify the effect of using the analogical thinking strategy in acquiring philosophical concepts for fifth-grade literary students and developing their abstract thinking. The researcher followed the experimental design with two equivalent groups, experimental and control, with a pre- and post-test. The research community consisted of fifth-grade literary students in the General Directorate of Education of Salah al-Din Governorate / Baiji Education Department. The researcher chose Sayyida Nafisa Secondary School for Girls intentionally. The research sample amounted to 59 students, including 29 students for the experimental group and 30 students for the control group. The researcher rewarded the two research groups in the variables of chronological age calculated in months, intelligence, previous year average, their free-thinking test, and the parents’ academic level. The research tool was an achievement test consisting of 30 paragraphs and an abstract thinking test. The validity and reliability of the two tools were confirmed. The research results indicated the superiority of the experimental group in the achievement test, and the presence of statistically significant differences in the abstract thinking test in Favor of the students of the experimental group. In light of the research results, the researcher made several recommendations. And proposals.
