The effect of running exercises according to the target time to develop speed, special speed endurance, and achieving a 200-meter sprint for female players of the North Gas Club teams

Abstract

The research aims to prepare exercises according to the target time to develop speed and speed endurance and to complete a 200-meter sprint for the experimental research sample, and to identify the effect of training according to the target time to develop speed and speed endurance and to complete a 200-meter sprint for the research sample. The researcher used the experimental method with a one-group design with a pre- and post-test. The research sample was deliberately selected from the members of the North Gas Club team, as they were training in the College of Physical Education for girls aged (20-22 years) for the 200-meter running event for the 2024-2025 sports season, The number of members of the research sample reached (6) female runners from the research community, which numbered (18) female runners from various governorates of the country. Homogeneity was carried out for the individuals in the research sample. The pre-test was conducted, the method prepared by the researcher was applied, and the post-test was conducted. Appropriate statistical procedures were applied and the results were obtained, After obtaining the results, the researcher concluded that the study achieved the hypotheses and objectives of the research, and the use of running exercises according to the target time also led to development in speed, speed endurance, and achievement in the 200 m running, which worked to show significant differences in their development in the post-tests. The researcher recommends the need to emphasize the use of running exercises according to the target time that help improve the level of runners in the 200-meter running event, and to innovate many educational and training methods that work to develop speed endurance because of their important role in developing the achievement of 200-meter running, as well as working to develop programs that have a clear impact on the development of all types of speed in the 200-meter running event.
