Abstract

This study aimed to extract and standardize tests for the speed components of futsal players participating in the Babil Governorate League for clubs (Babil, Hilla, Al-Mahawil, Al-Nil, Al-Mudhtiya, Janain Babil) through: (identifying proposed speed components – selecting tests for speed components – extracting and standardizing tests for speed components of futsal players). The researcher employed the descriptive survey method on a sample of 112 players, selecting eight clubs participating in the Babil Governorate Futsal League. The researcher conducted an initial exploratory study on an exploratory sample of 28 players. Subsequently, reliability was verified by reapplying the tests to the exploratory sample (second exploratory study) five days after the first measurement. After confirming the validity of the tests, the researcher conducted the main study on the primary sample of 84 players. Based on the study, the researcher was able to identify several speed components for futsal players that possess sound scientific foundations, including validity, reliability, and appropriate normal distribution. The researcher recommends utilizing these tests for player selection, as well as determining tests that link speed components with individual and combined offensive skill performances and tactical duties of futsal players. Furthermore, it is advised to adopt tests that meet scientific criteria of validity, reliability, objectivity, and normal distribution in the evaluation and assessment of speed components for futsal players.
